What Executive Coaching Is, Here

Executive coaching is a private, structured relationship built around one leader. I am Shorouk Al Abdallah, and for more than twenty years and over 10,000 client hours I have worked with people whose lives carry significant responsibility: executives, founders, members of the C-suite, and the people who hold a family or an organisation together.

Most leadership coaching works on performance. That matters, but it is rarely where the real difficulty lives. A decision you keep postponing, a pattern that follows you from one role to the next, a success that has quietly started to cost too much. These are not only professional questions, so I don't work on them as if they were.

"A title can hide a person.
Sometimes even from themselves."

The work draws on my MSc Applied Psychology and two decades of practice. It is where science meets spirituality: rigorous about how people change, and open to meaning, faith and intuition as part of that change.

Who This Coaching Is For

  • You lead others, and there is almost no one you can be fully honest with.
  • From the outside your career looks like it is working. From the inside, you are running on reserves.
  • You are a woman in leadership, carrying expectations that are rarely spoken and never fully shared.
  • You are facing a decision, a transition or a threshold, and you want to cross it with clarity rather than force.
  • You have tried advice, frameworks and good intentions. Something is still stuck.

My clients have ranged from CEOs to homemakers. What they share is not a title. It is the moment they are in.

How to Choose an Executive Coach

Coaching has become a word anyone can use, so it is worth asking a few questions before you begin with anyone, including me.

  • How long have they practised? Experience shows in what a coach notices, not only in what they know.
  • What do they draw on? Ask about their training, and whether their methods reach beyond conversation.
  • Will they tell you the truth? A good executive coach challenges you when you are settling, without deference to your title.
  • Do they know where coaching ends? Coaching is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment, and a responsible coach says so.
  • How does the first conversation feel? You should leave it feeling understood, not sold to.

In Their Own Words

Questions About Executive Coaching

What is executive coaching?

Executive coaching is a private, structured relationship between a leader and a coach. It focuses on how you lead, decide and live, not only on what you achieve. With me, it draws on applied psychology and twenty years of practice, and it sees the person and the role as one system rather than two separate problems.

What does an executive coach do?

An executive coach helps you see the patterns behind your decisions, name the costs you have stopped noticing, and act differently where it matters. I listen closely, challenge you honestly, and keep the whole picture in view: your work, your relationships and the life you are building through both.

How do I choose the right executive coach?

Ask about their training and how long they have practised, how they work, and whether they will challenge you rather than only encourage you. Check that confidentiality is clear. Then notice how the first conversation feels: you should leave feeling understood, not sold to.

Is executive coaching worth it?

It is worth it when you are ready to change something that matters and to give the work real time and attention. No honest coach can promise an outcome, but I can promise honesty, depth and a process built around you. The first call is free, so you can judge the fit before you commit.

How long does executive coaching take?

My one-to-one coaching runs for a minimum of three months, or twelve sessions. The exact format depends on the programme, and we agree it together after the first call.

Is executive coaching confidential?

Yes. What you share in our sessions is held in confidence. For people with visible or sensitive roles, that privacy is part of what makes deep work possible.
